NES Artist Residency, Skagaströnd, Iceland. July 2021
The residency has been developped in 6 series, being one of them around the recent eruption in the island.
During my stay in Iceland, I understood that outdoors painting was going to be a major source for my research.
Because if I am looking for connections and comprehend changes nothing best than to experiment them first hand.
I was trapped by the gigantic event of the volcano eruption. Intrigued by other specific characteristics of the Island, 6 series have been developed.
And I have been investigating if/how climate change is affecting Icelandic horses. Is nature trying to say something to us?
These beautiful horses seem to be the ultimate connection between humans and nature, wildlife.
Another series about the particular amazing colours of Iceland has been done. ( 6 series in total, and more than 200 pictures ).
There are more than 80.000 horses of Icelandic breed in Iceland, and climate change can be a big deal for them.
I am doing a research about this topic, focusing on the winter/summer of 2019/2020 when the weather changed so drastically.
So, I would like to make an Art installation that can bring awareness to the problem. It would be great to display it in different places or spaces, as an itinerant capsule exhibition.
( Please feel free to contact if the project is something you might be interested in. More details can be found in the website – more content to come ).
